BMM armored medical vehicle
The armored medical vehicle (BMM) is a multipurpose floating vehicle designed to solve the problems of medical support of events carried out in areas of hostilities and emergency situations. BMM is used to search, collect and evacuate the wounded from the battlefield, from the outbreaks of mass destruction and provide them with first aid for urgent indications during transportation. In addition, a vehicle with a team of doctors can be used as a first-aid post or a mobile dressing room.
Created on the basis of the BTR-80 while maintaining the main components and assemblies, the BMM can operate in various climatic conditions in difficult terrain at any time of the year or day.
The vehicle is equipped with modern communication facilities, a system of protection against weapons of mass destruction, fire-fighting equipment, water-pumping means, and a habitability system. The BMM hull has loopholes for firing from service weapons.
The BMM set includes a canopy-shelter that can be deployed as a separate tent with dimensions of 5.6x3.5x2 m or in combination with a vehicle, forming a functional block. In this case, the canopy-shelter is connected to one of the side doors of the BMM with a vestibule.
Special equipment of an armored medical vehicle includes:
- racks for stretcher installation;
- loading device;
- racks and boxes for placing medical equipment;
- potable water tank with a capacity of 40 liters;
- washbasin with elbow-operated tap;
- six-seater seat with harness; and
- tarpaulin awning.
